Italian EvK2Cnr in collaboration with Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology installed the Mobotix webcam at Mount Everest. Ekantipur reported, “With the installation of a Mobotix webcam at Kala Patthar on May 17, people around the world can view high resolution images of Mount Everest (Sagarmatha)”.
In a statement, EvK2Cnr said, the installation was part of the 2011 Share Everest expedition. And webcam will be active only during daylight, almost between 6am and 18pm (NST).
The statement said the Mobotix is the “highest webcam” in the world.
Following the UN resolutions and indications Ev-K2-CNR launched the SHARE project - Stations at High Altitude for Research on the Environment - with the aim to promote continuous scientific observations in key high-mountain regions able to contribute to knowledge on regional and global climate change.
Through this Share project, Firm will do research on Climate change and Global warming.
