Kenton Cool, a British mountain climber using a Ncell 3G Connection, made a first 3G call from Mount Everest.
He climbed to the summit 9th time and this time, he set a record by tweeting ‘first tweet ever’ & “first 3G call ever” from the top of the world i.e. from the summit of ‘Mount Everest’.
Though 3G Signal was weak, how ever he had managed to share his moment with his wife Jazz.
In his YouTube channel Cool says, “First 3G call ever made from the summit on the 6th May, 2011. I've summited Everest 9 times, but never been able to share the moment properly with my wife Jazz. An unbelievable moment for me.” Samsung sponsored Cool, made a first 3G call and first tweet from Mount Everest.

In October 2010, A private Nepali telecom company Ncell took high speed Internet facilities to the top of the world. Ncell launched Nepal's first 3G services at the base camp of Mount Everest.
In order to make the 3G services available to locals and trekkers in the Khumbu area, Ncell has set up nine base stations -- in Lukla, Namche, Khumjung, Thame, Syanboche, Thyangboche, Kalapatthar, Phakding and Gorakshep.
