क्यानोनिकल लिमिटेड का अनुसार Ubuntu 10.04 का धेरै कुराहरुलाई सुधार गरेर Ubuntu 10.10 निर्माण गरिएको छ । Ubuntu 10.04 गत अप्रिल मा सार्वजनिक गरिएको थियो ।

सामान्य भाषा मा भन्दा, उबन्टु ‘माइक्रोसफ्ट विन्डोज’ जस्तै अपरेटिङ सिस्टम हो तर फरक यस अर्थ मा छ कि, उबन्टु, खुला तथा स्वतन्त्र सफ्टवेयर हो ।  संसारभर, यस किसिम का खुला तथा स्वतन्त्र सफ्टवेयरहरु को प्रयोग र माग बढ्दो रहेको छ ।

नेपाल का हक मा भने, तपाईहरुले क्यानोनिकल लिमिटेडलाई ईमेल गर्नु भयो भने, उबन्टु को डिभिडी तपाईले आफ्नै घर मा पाउनसक्नुहुन्छ । साथै, फोस नेपाल मार्फत काठमाडौँ बाट पनि डिभिडी लिन सक्नुहुन्छ । इन्टरनेट को स्पिड राम्रो छ भने, आफैँ ले ‘ईमेज फाइल’ डाउनलोड गर्नसक्नुहुन्छ ।

उबन्टु १०. १० मा नयाँ के छ?

  • With version 10.10, Edubuntu builds on the work done in the previous version. Changes that occurred in Ubuntu 10.10 are also reflected in Edubuntu.

  • LTSP installation as well as the Netbook interface are now installable directly from the installer, allowing a much more intuitive installation process.

  • Unity now replaces the Ubuntu Netbook Launcher as the netbook interface, it is designed from the ground up to provide a superior user experience for smaller displays.

  • Edubuntu Menu Editor has undergone bug fixing and now has documentation available.

  • Gnome Nanny provides teachers and parents with a method of controlling how kids use a computer. It also includes basic content filtering.

  • New wallpapers are included from various artwork communities.

  • Language support has been expanded, allowing you to use Edubuntu in more than 142 languages.

What is Ubuntu?

UbuntuUbuntu is an operating system built by a worldwide team of expert developers. It contains all the applications you need: a web browser, office suite, media apps, instant messaging and much more.

Ubuntu is an open-source alternative to Windows and Office.

Ubuntu ("humanity towards others") and is distributed as free and open source software with additional proprietary software available. Ubuntu provides an up-to-date, stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on usability and ease of installation. Web statistics suggest that Ubuntu's share of Linux desktop usage is near 60%,and upward trending usage as a web server.

Ubuntu is composed of many software packages, of which the vast majority are distributed under a free software license (also known as open source). The main license used is the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) which, along with the GNU Lesser General Public License (GNU LGPL), explicitly declares that users are free to run, copy, distribute, study, change, develop and improve the software. Ubuntu is sponsored by the UK-based company Canonical Ltd., owned by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth. By keeping Ubuntu free and open source, Canonical is able to utilize the talents of community developers in Ubuntu's constituent components. Instead of selling Ubuntu for profit, Canonical creates revenue by selling technical support and from creating several services tied to Ubuntu.

Canonical endorses and provides support for three additional Ubuntu-derived operating systems: Kubuntu, Edubuntu and Ubuntu Server Edition. There are several other derivative operating systems including local language and hardware-specific versions.

Canonical releases new versions of Ubuntu every six months and supports Ubuntu for eighteen months by providing security fixes, patches to critical bugs and minor updates to programs. LTS (Long Term Support) versions, which are released every two years, are supported for three years on the desktop and five years for servers. The latest version of Ubuntu, 10.04 (Lucid Lynx), was released on April 29, 2010.

    चलाउन त यस्तै अपरेटिङ सिस्टम चलाउनु पर्ने हो तर नानी देखि लागेको बानीले गर्दा उही बिल गेट्सकै अपरेटिङ सिस्टम चलाइन्छ :)

    Ubuntu 10.04 को लाईभ सिडीलाइ पेन ड्राइवमा हालेर कहीलेकाही चलाउने गर्थेँ । अब यो पनि खोज-खाज गर्नु पर्ला ।

    हुन त म रहर फेर्न मात्रै कहीलेकाही लिनक्स चलाउँछु तर वास्तवमा विण्डोजका नवीनतम सिस्टममा रहेका सबै सुविधा लिनक्समा नि:शुल्क रुपमै रहेको छ । विण्डोजको पाइरेटेड अपरेटिङ सिस्टमलाई घुमाउरो तरिकाले प्रोत्साहन दिनु भन्दा सरकारी स्तरबाटै लिनक्सको प्रचार-प्रसार,प्रयोग र प्रशिक्षण सुरु हुनु पर्ने हो ! ।

SLC Results 2068/2069 to Publish in Mid June

The result of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) 2068/2069 examinations held earlier this year will be published in mid June (First week of Asar). According to ekantipur , the Office of the Controller of Examinations is going to publish the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) results 2068 in third week of June. Deputy Controller Ambika Pd. Regmi said, “We are trying to publish the result as soon as possible. If we go according to our plan the results would be out by the third week of June”. Shirish Ko Phool : Review & Download

One of the finest book ever written in Nepali literature....Shirish Ko Phool and one of my personal favorite. I have read this novel over four times or say five times..and each time I finish the novel I feel pang and it hangs on my head for so many days. Why guilt is so painful that made such a strong woman called Sakambari to suicide..or die…?? The novel has a wonderful language..the simplest of all. When I had read it for the first time..to tell the truth that I hadn’t really understood the novel, I felt the love story in it and I could not understand the passion in the novel.. But this day I may say I am able to figure out the passion and the feelings of the author..
