Open source is a development method for software that harnesses the power of distributed peer review and transparency of process. The promise of open source is better quality, higher reliability, more flexibility, lower cost, and an end to predatory vendor lock-in.
FOSS Nepal Community was established by a team of those enthusiastic people who believe in the usage of Free/Open Source Software (FOSS). The primary target of FOSS Nepal Community is to promote and diversify the usage of Free/Open Source Software in Nepal.
1.To raise awareness among general public, government bodies, private sector, civil society, educational institutions and media for expanding the scope of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) via Free and Open Source Software.



2.To sensitize general public, government bodies, civil society and media for the implementation of E-Governance by means of FOSS; the optimal solution for E-Gov.



3.Advocacy for Alternatives in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) specific to ICT.



4.To enhance the capacity of IT professionals by promoting inclusion of Free and Open Source Software in educational system and providing platform for IT Professional to make them globally saleable.

SLC Result 2068/2069 Published

The Office of the Controller of Examinations, Sanothimi has published the results of the SLC examination for the academic year 2068, on Wednesday evening. Out of 528,257 examines, 47.16 percent students passed the SLC this year. According to OCE, 2,47,689 regular students passed the exam under the regular, whereas 82,283 students have passed under the exempted category. We've uploaded SLC Result 2068 in .pdf format. Shirish Ko Phool : Review & Download

One of the finest book ever written in Nepali literature....Shirish Ko Phool and one of my personal favorite. I have read this novel over four times or say five times..and each time I finish the novel I feel pang and it hangs on my head for so many days. Why guilt is so painful that made such a strong woman called Sakambari to suicide..or die…?? The novel has a wonderful language..the simplest of all. When I had read it for the first time..to tell the truth that I hadn’t really understood the novel, I felt the love story in it and I could not understand the passion in the novel.. But this day I may say I am able to figure out the passion and the feelings of the author.. I really appreciate the wonderful story, the plot the real setting, the real characters…and the situation of the novel till it ends. The pain of running away from the feelings and passion. घोडा तबेला [संस्मरण]

स्याफ्रुवेसीबाट बिहान साँढे सात बजे निस्कँदा, एकैदिनमा धेरै माथिसम्म नजानु 'हाइ' (लेक) लाग्छ भन्ने लोप्साङ, लामा होटल आइपुग्दा, पानी पर्दैन तपाईहरु माथि जान सक्नुहुन्छ भन्न थालेको थियो ।  दुई बजे लामा होटल पुग्दा, पानी सिमसिम परिरहेको थियो, चियाका लागि हामी (विवेक दाइ र म) छेउको होटलमा रोक्कियौँ । लोप्साङ, आफ्नी जर्मन पर्यटक लाउरालाई लिएर अलि पर्तिरको होटलमा गएर रोकियो, हामीले लोप्साङलाई बोलायौँ तर उसले ईशाराले नआउने संकेत गर्यो, उ चिया पिउँदै थियो । तर लोप्साङ सँगै भएकी जर्मन पर्यटक हामी बसेको होटलमा आएर गफ गर्न लागेपछि, लोप्साङ पनि पछिपछि आयो । एक घन्टा बस्दा पनि पानी खासै रोकिएन, तर लोप्साङ पानी रोकिन्छ, तपाईहरु घोडातबेला पुग्नुहुन्छ भनेर हामीलाई भनिरहेथ्यो, सायद उ हामीलाई लामा होटलमा नबसोस् भन्ने चाह गरिरहेको थियो । अघिल्लो दिन माछापोखरी, काठमाडौँबाट बस चढ्दा, लोप्साङ हामी भन्दा अघिल्लो सिटमा थियो । ९ घन्टा लामो बस यात्रामा, लाउरा सँग खासै केही कुरा नभएपनि, लोप्साङ हाम्रो लागि पनि गाइड झैँ बनिसकेको थियो । स्याफ्रुवेसी, विवेक दाइ र मेरो लागि नौलो थियो, लोप्साङकै पछि लागेर, ह
